Tax Day — April 18 this year  — is fast approaching. While it might not be your favorite holiday, it is worth celebrating. Not only are you done with your taxes (if you waited until the last minute), but there are also some deals to be had. Here are some freebies and discounts that you can take advantage of on Tax Day.

Food Discounts

• Great American Cookies’ typical Tax Day offering is one free chocolate chip cookie with any additional purchase. Everyone loves chocolate, so go ahead and treat yourself.

• Boston Market is offering a meal deal on Tax Day. You can get a half-chicken individual meal for $10.40. You get the joke, right?

• Kona Ice is giving away one free ice treat to every customer on Tax Day.

• During previous Tax Days, Sonic has offered 50 percent off the price of cheeseburgers and drinks.

Retail Deals

• As PennyHoarder notes, if you’re a loyal Southwest Airlines customer and subscribe to its Rapid Rewards program, you can earn 1,000 points easily. All you have to do is log in on April 18 and file your taxes through the TurboTax link.

• From April 15 to April 18, you can get a free workout and massage at Planet Fitness locations across the nation.

• Have documents that need shredded? Head over to OfficeMax or Office Depot on Tax Day and you can shred up to five pounds of documents.

• Almost all the tax software companies, like TurboTax and H&R Block, offer discounts on filing products on Tax Day.
