Some easy ways to increase your home’s curb appeal.

Spring means spring cleaning, but for home sellers, it’s time to get down to business.

One of the easiest ways to boost your home’s sale price is to update its curb appeal. The way your home looks from the outside is just as important to buyers as the way it looks inside. Here are some ways to give your home a curb appeal boost.

Paint it Black

One easy way to increase your home’s value is to paint your front door.

What color, you ask? Black, oddly enough. According to a recent Zillow survey, buyers’ offers for homes with black front doors were an average of $3,000 more than offers for homes with any other color. If you have a garage, paint it black too.

Clean the Windows

No one likes a dirty glass. Clean your windows so that they look pristine to potential buyers. Not only will clean windows look nicer, but they’ll also allow buyers to see inside the home more easily and cast more light on the interior.

Update the Landscape

You can hire a landscaper to really give your home’s curb appeal a boost, but those costs can be expensive. Instead, opt for easier DIY things, like mowing the lawn, trimming the hedges, and adding new flowers to the stoop.

Fresh New Mailbox

If you have a curbside mailbox, get a new one. It’s a relatively small price to pay and will make a good first impression on buyers.

Do One Thing: Paint your front door black to give your home a quick curb appeal boost.
